Shahir Massoud’s culinary journey began in 2009 when he enrolled in New York City’s French Culinary Institute. Combining classic French training with real-world experience, he worked in New York kitchens such as Lupa, Del Posto, Pulino’s, and was part of the opening team at The Mark by Jean Georges.
Upon returning to Toronto, he worked in top local restaurants and launched a growing chain of Italian-inspired fast-casual eateries. In spring 2016, he was cast as the chef-host of CBC’s daily show “The Goods”, where he hosted 260 episodes.
He has hosted and appeared in shows including “Around the World in 8 Meals”, “Spice Secrets”, “Cook the Books”, “Recipe For Disaster”, and appears regularly on Buzzfeed, CTV’s “The Good Stuff”, and HSN. He is a spokesperson for Butterball Canada and Kitchen HQ, and authored the cookbook “Eat, Habibi, Eat!”.
He currently lives in Toronto with his wife Mila and kids Kairo and Katherine.
