In the ‘Veggies All Day Long’ episode of The Urban Vegetarian, host Desiree Nielsen has healthy cooking down to a science, with her inner foodie always amping up the taste factor! For this recipe, she makes an amazing snack for entertaining guests: tamari almonds… yummy, healthy, and super easy!
Ingredients:
4 cups (950 ml) almonds
1/3 cup (80 ml) tamari
1/8 tsp (.75 ml) cayenne pepper
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).
Put almonds on a rimmed baking sheet. Toast for a few minutes, just to heat up.
Pour tamari in a bowl and add cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
Add warmed almonds to bowl and toss to coat.
Return coated almonds to baking tray, spread in an even layer and toast for another 8-10 minutes until dry and aromatic.
Remove from oven and let cool at room temperature.
Serve as a snack.
