Gusto Worldwide Media has returned to production. The company, which is unilaterally a TV channel, production & post-production studio, and a distribution vertical, resumed recording with three new shows. Chris Knight, CEO and President of Gusto Worldwide Media, told Prensario that the company is continuing production with new safety measures in place for the rest of 2020.
Gusto’s new endeavours include: CombiNATION Plates, DNA Dinners and a reinvented season of their classic title Cook Like A Chef, which was available September 6th, 2020 for international market.
Cook Like a Chef, is a series featuring four talented chefs exploring and explaining a wide variety of cooking techniques. Gusto is thrilled to release this modernized iteration of the classic for its sixth season this year. Filmed in 4K UHD, each episode focuses on a single ingredient and delves into cooking techniques, tips, and tricks that will give any home cook confidence.
The return to production
According to Knight, with the return to filming, strict health and safety measures were implemented for the entire team. These included a smaller crew, an adaptation of all the work tools, masks for all involved, and increased hand washing.
“At Gusto, our top priority is health, so we devised a strict plan to contain the health of our personnel, and as a result, I’m happy to say none of us have gotten sick,” Knight explains.
On the other hand, the executive finds the well-being of his team to be a concern. “You have to feel good to be creative. And with the pandemic persisting, nothing is for certain. We’re doing our best to make sure the whole team feel safe, supported, and encouraged.”
As for his production-billboard for this year, Knight says it will be slow-moving, as a large part of the productions projected to film this year have moved to 2021. “We were supposed to be filming in Singapore and Miami this month, but we decided to pause those plans to protect our team. In the meantime, we continue to work with a very diverse, on-screen team, with chefs from Latin America, Asia and Europe.”
Although the production unit will take it slow for the rest of the year, Gusto continues to strengthen distribution ties with channel and content deals around the world. BOSS TV (USA) added Gusto TV to its global OTT, offering the best 4K food content to its audience. In Australia, Gusto has announced a third 4K / UHD content agreement with the specialized channel SBS Food. Similarly, the AVOD platform Xumo (USA), has announced its new Gusto partnership with more than 75 hours and access to refreshed new titles.
