Tamarind Water

Ingredients

  • Soft tamarind paste with seeds 1 cup (250ml)
  • 1 cup warm water (250ml)

Directions

  1. Break the tamarind up with your hands and place in a bowl. Cover with warm water and allow to sit for 10 minutes to soften. Once soft mash up using your hands or a spoon and mix well.  Place in a strainer set over a bowl.  Using the back of a spoon, mash the fruit against the bottom of the strainer. This will remove any seeds or pods.

Note if using tamarind paste without seeds reduce the water to ½ cup.
