Maple butter pie

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams cornstarch
  • 1 litre 35% cream
  • 11 egg yolks
  • 165 millilitres maple syrup
  • 170 grams brown sugar
  • 125 grams flour
  • 1 pre-frozen 12” pie crust

Directions

  1. Dilute the cornstarch with the cream and mix it with the egg yolks.
  2. Simmer the syrup in a medium saucepan over medium high heat and add brown sugar and flour.
  3. Stir until the sugar has melted.
  4. Add the egg mixture and place in the fridge for 2 hours.
  5. Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
