This is truly a unique place to work! We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Social Media Coordinator to help grow Gusto TV across digital platforms.
Position Summary:
As the Social Media Coordinator, you’ll take on a range of creative tasks—from social media planning and content creation to website maintenance and campaign coordination. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and gain hands-on experience in the world of food and lifestyle media. You’ll get to interact with team members across all stages of production, experience the day-to-day magic behind food television, and sharpen your writing, design, and communication skills. You may even discover a few new favourite recipes along the way. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our studio in Ottawa, working closely with our talented (and food-loving) Gusto team. Key Responsibilities:
- Create a weekly social media schedule based on upcoming programming, events, and holidays
- Draft social media creative and copy using Later.com
- Design engaging graphics for social media and marketing using Canva and Adobe Photoshop
- Stay current on social media trends, hashtags, keywords, and SEO best practices to keep our content fresh and optimized
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage during production days
- Edit and produce high-quality video content for social platforms, including Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, and YouTube Shorts
- Engage with online audiences to foster community and brand loyalty
- Assist with website updates, including uploading and formatting recipes and videos
- Draft, edit, and publish biographies for chefs and hosts
- Monitor and maintain Gusto TV’s show listings on IMDb Pro
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement new, creative marketing strategies
Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field
- Practical experience using all social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.) and how their algorithms work
- Experience with the following tools: Later, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and CapCut
- Familiarity with website development and CMS platforms (WordPress & Shopify)
- Excellent written, organizational, time management, and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing best practices
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Creative thinker with a passion for food, media, and storytelling
