Development Producer

About the job

Gusto TV is looking for a Development Producer to help shape our expanding slate of bold and original food programming. Based at our Ottawa studio, you’ll work directly with our Head of Production and Executive Producer to research, create, cast, and develop fresh show concepts (both long and short form) for our English and Spanish channel feeds.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and refine show ideas
  • Research new concepts
  • Be first point of contact in the show development process
  • Assist in drafting show budgets
  • Assist in the development of show bibles
  • Write & package show integration & sponsorship packages & decks (working with our creative services team)
  • Maintain an active host casting portfolio & interact with agents and talent
  • Evaluate incoming pitches
  • Keep an eye on what the other guys are doing so we can do better
  • Clearances & rights

About You

  • 3-5 years of hands on development & production experience
  • An understanding of tax credits
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional research skills (including the use of varied AI platforms)
  • Practical experience doing the stuff listed above
  • Proficiency with Canva, Monday, Slack, Excel, plus the other obvious ones
