Ottawa, Canada, March 2, 2021 – Gusto TV is pleased to announce the international premiere of Up the Dish (20×30) on Monday, March 7th at 8 pm. The first half of the series will stream every Monday at 8 pm on Gusto TV with the second half becoming available this fall.
Up the Dish is an exciting new culinary series that reworks a classic recipe and presents three variations of the iconic dish. Co-hosted by four unique chefs – Tiera Singh, Poppy Sandler, Missy Hui and Micah Trainor – Up the Dish pushes the envelope. Each half-hour episode begins with a classic version of the featured dish, followed by an alternate version, a vegan or vegetarian option and a show-stopping, over-the-top five-star dish or a delicious dessert.
“Up The Dish introduces Missy, Micah, Poppy and Tiera – four fresh faces and new talent to the Gusto TV family,” says Keren Jackman, Senior Producer at Gusto Worldwide Media. “Having this many hosts with different personalities, food backgrounds and expertise was not only a pleasure to produce but even more fun to watch!”

Meet the Hosts
Poppy Sandler – With a long television food bio behind the camera, Poppy’s passion for culinary pursuits led her first into managing catering for a local Toronto food empire. Since then, she’s made the jump back into production, working and honing her skills in the Culinary departments for some of the country’s biggest food shows. Poppy has an insatiable food curiosity, which has led her to travel to over 30 countries, always fascinated by regional and cultural dishes.
Micah Trainor – She first fell in love with food and cuisine as a child, learning about both modern Canadian and old-school Caribbean cooking from her family. This passion led her to classical culinary education at George Brown College, with a focus on nutrition. As a private chef and caterer, Micah has spent much of her career working with families in need. These days, she is teaching and filming cooking segments for Toronto’s Cityline.
Missy Hui – First in her cooking school class, top prize winner on Chopped, and boasting a resume full of equally impressive achievements, Missy’s finest attributes are her friendly, down-to-earth style and fun personality. She is currently hosting food events online, teaching kids to cook, and working to raise awareness for causes that are dear to her heart. She has also been seen as a sous chef for Craig Wong on Cook Like a Chef!
Tiera Singh – A passionate and adventurous Canadian foodie, Tiera educates, entertains and energizes you with her healthy and delicious recipes. Her strong background in the sciences and impressive teaching skills bring a refreshing taste to the culinary arts. Tiera’s bubbly personality, colorful fashion choices and creative spice combinations inspired by world travels bring flair to the kitchen.
