Ottawa, Canada, February 23, 2021 – Gusto Worldwide Media has appointed Carrie Gillis as its new Vice President and General Manager.
Gillis will oversee operations, sales, and marketing at Gusto TV’s Ottawa based studio and master control facility.
With years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Gillis brings leadership and expertise in multimedia content creation, client and agency partnerships, sales, marketing, and operations.
She began her career in TV content distribution for CBC International Sales and Télé Images in Paris. Following this, she spent several years leading the advertising and sponsorship sales and events business at Strategy Magazine, Realscreen and Torstar Corp, the latter at which she launched Toronto Cocktail Week and Toronto Burger Week and was integral to the launch of city magazine The Grid.
Most recently, she held the role of Managing Director of Events and Marketing at St. Joseph Communications – Media Division, where she led the launch of a new events division and more than doubled experiential revenue growth. She’s developed experiential content solutions for St. Joseph Communications Media brands including Toronto Life, Fashion, Maclean’s, Canadian Business, Ottawa Magazine and Weddingbells, and custom experiential solutions for leading global and local brand partners including Diageo, Charton Hobbs, Labatt, Beam Suntory, Holt Renfrew, Spence Diamonds, Dufferin Mall and Empire Communities.
Gillis begins in the newly created position on March 1.
Recently, Gusto has completed production on two new series, CombiNATION Plates and One BIG Recipe, and a new holiday special. In the last six months, the company launched on several platforms including Roku, Channel 7, and Samsung TV Plus. In 2021, Gusto continues to strengthen CTV revenue growth with its advertising monetization platform and produce new content focusing on second-screen technology integrations.
