The Inspiration
S’mores are a beloved North American treat traditionally made around a campfire, combining roasted marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. This recipe reimagines that classic experience in a baked form, making it accessible year-round without the need for an open flame.
On Flour Power, Jessica McGovern often takes nostalgic desserts and transforms them into simple, shareable baked goods. These S’mores Bars reflect that philosophy by layering familiar ingredients into a soft, chewy dessert that captures all the flavors of traditional s’mores in a convenient bar form.
The buttery graham cracker base provides a sweet and slightly crunchy foundation, while the chocolate chips melt into a smooth, rich layer. The marshmallows on top toast and bubble in the oven, creating a golden, gooey topping that perfectly mimics the classic campfire experience.
