Spicy Honey Mustard

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) yellow mustard seeds
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) brown mustard seeds
  • 1/2 cup (120 mL) white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) water
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) sea salt

Directions

  1. In spice blender (grinder), grind yellow mustard seeds and brown mustard seeds until most are broken.
  2. In a small bowl, combine seeds, vinegar and water. Cover.
  3. Let cure at room temperature for 24 hours.
  4. To make the mustard, combine the mustard seed mixture, honey and salt in a blender.
  5. Process until smooth. (Note: For more rustic texture, use food processor)
  6. Serves as a side dish.
