
A simple and classic tomato based taco sauce modeled after the traditional Mexican Ortega taco sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1x 15-ounce (425 g) can crushed tomato
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) chili powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons (7.5 ml) cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) onion powder
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) paprika
- ¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
- ⅓ cup (80 ml) water
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey
Method:
In a blender, combine the crushed tomato, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar, water, and honey. Blend until smooth, 35-40 seconds.
Serve immediately, or pour into a sealable mason jar and refrigerate or freeze.
