Fresh Garlic Naan

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp dried yeast
  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 200 ml yogurt
  • 450 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 5 cloves garlic

 

Method:
  1. In a saucepot heat milk and sugar to body temperature, then add yeast.
  2. Add yogurt and oil to milk.
  3. In stand mixer combined dry ingredients.
  4. Add wet ingredients to stand mixer and mix to combine.
  5. Proof dough until doubled in size.
  6. Chop garlic and add to saucepan with ghee. Place on medium heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Cut 20 gram balls of naan dough.
  8. Roll out on floured surface to a flat disc.
  9. Cook naan on grill pan on both sides.
  10.  Brush with garlic ghee and serve.
