Tender Cowboy Stir-Fry Recipe

Cowboy Stir-Fry Recipe

This Cowboy Stir-Fry recipe brings together juicy ribeye steak, smoky kielbasa, crispy potatoes, sweet corn, cabbage, peppers, squash, and jalapeño for a hearty griddle meal packed with flavour. Featured on Griddle Nation, this bold and satisfying recipe combines high-heat cooking with a simple Italian dressing finish for an easy family-style dinner.

The Inspiration

Griddle Nation takes inspiration from popular internet cooking videos and transforms those ideas into approachable recipes designed specifically for the flat-top griddle. Nate Lippy and CJ Fraizer bring that spirit to this Cowboy Stir-Fry, creating a hearty dish that combines steak, sausage, potatoes, and an assortment of vegetables.

The recipe has the rustic, generous character associated with cowboy-inspired cooking. Rather than focusing on one protein or a single vegetable, it brings a variety of ingredients together on the griddle to create one substantial meal.

Because everything is cooked on one griddle, the ingredients develop flavour through direct contact with the hot surface. The potatoes begin cooking first, followed by the ribeye and vegetables, allowing each component to develop its own texture before everything is combined.

Ingredients

  • 6oz. Kielbasa Sausage, Sliced
  • 3 Red Potatoes, Cut into 1” Chunks
  • Graza Sizzle Cooking Oil
  • Blackstone All Purpose Seasoning
  • 2 Ribeye Steaks
  • ½ Yellow Onion, Cut into 1” Chunks
  • ½ Red Pepper, Cut into 1” Chunks
  • 1C Can Corn, Drained
  • 1C Green Cabbage, Cut into 1” Chunks
  • 1 Yellow Squash, Cut into 1” Chunks
  • 1 Jalapeño, Small Diced
  • ½ C Zesty Italian Dressing
  • Green Onion and Parsley for Garnish

Method

  • Heat griddle to medium high heat. Allow 10-15 minutes, or until the surface darkens and light smoke appears
  • Add a thin layer of Graza Sizzle oil and potatoes to griddle. Season with All Purpose seasoning. Allow potatoes to cook for 3-4 minutes before continuing.
  • Add ribeyes to the griddle and season. Sear on each side for 3 minutes, remove and rest.
  • Add all other veggies to the potatoes and toss to combine. Pour zesty Italian dressing over it and mix in.
  • Cut the ribeyes into 1” chunks and add into the mixed veggies on griddle. Toss to combine.
  • Plate and garnish with chopped green onions and parsley.

Serving Suggestions

For a lighter accompaniment, serve it with a crisp green salad dressed with a simple vinaigrette. The fresh greens and acidity provide a refreshing contrast to the rich steak and sausage. Grilled vegetables can also complement the dish if you’re serving it as part of a larger outdoor meal.

For entertaining, transfer the finished stir-fry to a large platter and garnish generously with green onions and parsley. Place the platter in the centre of the table so guests can serve themselves family-style. Extra Italian dressing can be served alongside for anyone who wants additional brightness.

This recipe is also well suited to backyard gatherings and casual weekend meals because the griddle provides plenty of cooking space and allows the entire dish to come together efficiently.
