Rustic Tuna Melts

Ingredients:

½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise

1 tablespoon (15 ml) grainy mustard

2 celery stalks, chopped

½ small onion, chopped

2 tablespoons (30 ml) capers, chopped

1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground black pepper

3 x 6-ounce (170 g) cans chunk tuna, drained

Salt

4 thick slices crusty sourdough bread

4 ounces (114 g) old cheddar, grated

Method:

Preheat broiler.

Combine mayonnaise, grainy mustard, celery, onion, capers, and pepper to a bowl. Add tuna and stir to combine. Season with salt. Place sourdough bread slices on baking sheet and top each slice with tuna mixture. Sprinkle grated cheddar over each piece.

Broil for 2-4 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
