Cast Iron Rib Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2-inch (3.75 cm) thick rib steak
  • Kosher salt
  • Cracked black pepper

 


Method:

Preheat cast iron pan over high heat.

Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).

Pat the steak dry with paper towels.

Season both sides with salt and let stand for one hour to room temperature.

Scrape off salt, season with pepper.

Add the steak to the skillet.

Sear until a brown crust forms, about 1-2 minutes per side.

Transfer to oven cook to desired doneness.

Let steak rest for ten minutes, then serve.
