Lavender Peach Lemonade

Gusto TV’s ‘Let’s Brunch’ is a fun show starring warm host Vanessa Gianfrancesco, this recipe was featured in an episode about Farmhouse-style favorites… Now, her refreshing Lavender Peach Lemonade may start on the farm, but with a few touches, Vanessa takes it all the way uptown! First, a touch of aromatic lavender is steeped with honey for an elegant upgrade to the old-school… Then… frozen peaches and a turn in the blender combine to elevate this old-school, everyday experience from country kitchen to high-country style!


 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dried lavender for culinary use
  • 1/8 teaspoon (0.75 ml) salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups (470 ml) frozen peaches
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • Fresh lavender sprigs for culinary use, to garnish

 


 

Method:

Add water and honey to a pot and heat until honey starts dissolving. Add dried lavender and stir in. Simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep 10 minutes. Strain. Stir salt into mixture. Allow to cool.

Pour mixture into a blender. Add lemon juice, frozen peaches, and water, and blend.

Pour into a glass. Garnish with a sprig of lavender.
