Ingredients:
For the fries:
5 potatoes, washed
2 tablespoons (15 ml) olive oil
1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) paprika
1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) onion powder
1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) oregano
Salt
For the gravy:
1 tablespoon (15 ml) whole butter
1 tablespoon (15 ml) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240 ml) beef stock
1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce
To serve:
1/2 cup (120 ml) cheese curds
Method:
Preheat oven to 400 F (205 C).
For the fries:
Cut the potatoes into medium-sized fries.
In a large bowl, toss cut potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano and salt.
Transfer potatoes to a lined baking sheet and spread out evenly. Bake in oven for twenty-five minutes or until golden brown.
For the gravy:
Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour, cook, stirring often until brown.
Add beef stock and continue to cook and stir until thickened. Add soy sauce to finish.
To Serve:
In a serving dish, place fries, top with cheese curds, cover all with gravy and serve immediately.
