Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Cocoa Powder, sifted
- 1 tablespoon Sugar, sifted
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 cups Cream
- 1 Vanilla Bean
- 3 tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
- 1 cup Water
- ½ Chili pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoons Honey
- Pinch of salt
- Red food colouring, for rim
- Sugar for rim
Directions
- Place your sugar for your mug rim in a shallow bowl. Add a touch of red food colouring and mix well until the sugar is desired colour of pink. Rub your mug rims with the orange wedge to moisten. Dip the mug in the sugar to coat the rim and set aside.
- Sift your sugar and cocoa powder together into a bowl.
- Place your milk and cream into a saucepan. Add your whole vanilla bean and bring to a boil. Simmer for approximately 10 minutes. Remove vanilla pod. Split the pod with a knife and add the seeds to your sifted sugar and cocoa.
- Whisk your water and chocolate syrup together. Add it to your warm cream, whisking to incorporate. Gradually mix in your dry mix whisking briskly until the chocolate has completely dissolved.
- Cut your chili into a super fine dice. Add your chili, honey and a pinch of salt to your hot chocolate. Pour into your sugar rimmed mugs and enjoy!
