Ingredients:
2 sheets frozen puff pastry, defrosted
1 egg, whisked, for egg wash
¼ cup (60 ml) melted butter
3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar
1 tablespoon (15 ml) cinnamon
Store-bought dulce de leche (caramel sauce), to garnish
Method:
Preheat oven to 400 F (190 C).
Roll out puff pastry sheets to roughly 8-inch x 12-inch (20 cm x 30 cm). Brush half of the egg wash over pastry sheets. Lay the second pastry sheet on top of first pastry sheet. Cut pastry into 8 long strips. Twist each strip 3 times and lay on baking sheet lined with parchment. Brush with remaining egg wash. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and brush with melted butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Dust churros with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Drizzle with dulce de leche sauce.
