- Chili (Recipe) kept warm
- 4 hot dogs
- 4 hot dog buns
- 1 large white onion
- 83g (1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
- Pickles jalapeños, to serve
Method:
For the Chili Dog
- Preheat oven to 350 F (176.6 C)
- Warm the chili in a large, heavy bottomed pot on a back burner
- Meanwhile, prepare the hot dogs. They can be steamed on the stovetop, microwaved, seared, or grilled according to your preference.
- Place the warm hot dogs in the sliced buns and line up on a rimmed baking sheet. Spoon about 59 mL (¼ cup) of chili over each hot dog.
- Evenly divide the shredded cheese between all the dogs and sprinkle over the chili. Transfer the tray to the oven and bake until the cheese has melted, roughly 5 minutes.
- While the dogs are a-baking, peel and dice the onion.
- Top the dogs with diced onion and pickled jalapeños and serve immediately.
