This recipe is from the Bacon & Bananas episode of A is for Apple with Robert Jewell.

Makes: 12 slices

Ingredients

  • 12 Slices of bacon thick cut
  • ¼ cup (60ml) maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (176°C).
  2. In a small bowl combine the maple syrup and vanilla.
  3. Line a tray with aluminum foil.
  4. Place bacon on the tray.
  5. Brush with maple vanilla mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with half of the brown sugar and place in the oven.
  7. Cook for 10 minutes and flip the bacon.
  8. Brush again with the maple vanilla syrup and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  9. Return to oven and cook until crispy approximately 8 more minutes.
  10. Remove immediately from tray allow to cool.

Use this bacon to make a delicious Elvis sandwich.
