Ingredients:
For the Slider Burger:
- 4 potato roll slider buns or brioche slider buns
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- Sliced gruyere cheese
- 1 onion, sliced
For the Beer Mustard:
- 1 (12 oz) can lager beer
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp black mustard seeds
- 3 tbsp yellow mustard seeds
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup ground mustard
- 1 tbsp caraway seeds
Method:
Make the Beer Mustard:
Place a pot of water on the stove and bring to a boil.
Place beer, sugar and egg yolks in a bowl and whisk over the pot of boiling water until yolks have become thick. Add remaining ingredients and continue whisking and cooking over the double boiler until mustard has become thick.
Make the Burger:
Season the ground beef with salt and garlic powder and mix together. Form into 4 patties and cook on a grill pan over medium heat, flipping halfway through and topping with gruyere cheese slices.
Grill slider buns until toasted. Add Beer Mustard to the bottom bun followed by the burger, a thick onion slice, and top bun. Skewer with a toothpick, repeat with remaining burgers, and serve.
