Grilled Corn with Chipotle-Maple Glaze

½ cup pure maple syrup (125ml)

¼ cup un salted butter (60ml)

1 tablespoon minced canned chipotle chilies in adobo sauce (15ml)

1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic  (5ml)

1 teaspoon onion salt (5ml)

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (5ml)

6 ears fresh corn, husked

In a sauce pan add butter, maple syrup, onion salt , garlic, pepper and chipotle chilies and bring to a simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.  Stir often to combine.

Place the corn on a baking sheet and brush with Chipotle – maple syrup basting sauce.

Preheat grill for medium heat.  Oil the grill.  Grill the corn for 2 minutes.  Baste and turn the corn halfway and then cook for another 1 – 2 minutes.

Remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Yield: 6 cobs
